All students MUST wear and maintain their own safety equipment when training. Mouth Guards, Head Guards, Groin Guards, Shin and In Step Pads, Hand Wraps, whichever equipment is necessary for the activity they are participating in.
The following acts are banned during training at “The Den Fight Centre”:
- Butting with the head
- Eye gouging of any kind
- Biting
- Spitting at an opponent
- Hair pulling
- Fish hooking
- Groin attacks of any kind
- Putting a finger into any orifice or any cut or laceration of an opponent
- Small joint manipulation
- Striking downward using the point of the elbow
- Striking to the spine or the back of the head
- Kicking to the kidney with a heel
- Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea
- Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh
- Grabbing the clavicle
- Kicking the head of a grounded opponent
- Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent
- Stomping a grounded opponent
- Holding the fence
- Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent
- Using abusive language in fenced ring/fighting area
- Engaging in any unsportsmanlike conduct that causes injury to an opponent
- Attacking an opponent on or during the break
- Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee
- Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the round
- Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury
- Throwing opponent out of ring/fighting area
- Flagrantly disregarding the instructions of the referee
- Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck
- Interference by the corner
- No Knees to the Face
- No Elbows to the head
- Applying any foreign substance to the hair or body to gain an advantage
If you injure another student by neglecting the rules of the gym you will be held responsible. All students should get a license with insurance. This gives the student cover in case of severe injury. Students will only be covered for stood up fighting and submission wrestling. Students wishing to do MMA sparing/fighting MUST in their own time seek there own fighters insurance. MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is a full contact sport, The Den Fight Centre take all the steps to making sure our students and members are safe. This said, injurys in martial arts are very common, The Den Fight Centre and it’s instructors take no responsibility for injuries students may get during a training session. There is a very high risk of broken bones including neck and back, broken teeth, ligament damage, loss of eye sight, loss of hearing and even death. By signing this form you are waving your rights to sue “The Den Fight Centre”, you are also signing to say you do not suffer from any heart condition or any other medical condition which would deem you unsafe to train. You are signing to say you have never been advised to not train or participate in contact or extreme sports by a doctor.
Cancellation of membership – Members must give at least 15 workings days notice before the 2nd of the month to cancel a membership. The Den Fight Centre will not refund a member or have the power to stop the direct debit unless the 15 working days notice is given before the direct debit date (the 2nd of each month). All cancellations of memberships must be made in writing via email or post. Text messages, voice messages or phone calls will not be accepted as a cancellation. We MUST receive it in writing for the legal side of cancelling the direct debit. In the event 15 days notice is NOT given the next payment will be taken as normal and the cancellation will take place the following month.
